Gentleness Break
Food for Thought
Today is a gentleness break, and a reminder of something you already know.
You have heard this before. Notice what is already here. Say thank you, often. However, your brain is not wired to hold onto a lesson once and keep it forever. It defaults back to old patterns, especially the pattern of noticing what is missing rather than what is present. That is exactly why a reminder like today matters.
So many little things get taken for granted. Your shampoo. Your washing powder. The sun drying your washing on the line. You get to the bottom of the coffee tin and think, there it goes, I have to replace it, coffee is so expensive.
However, what if you noticed the coffee while you still had it? What if you took in the making of it, the smell, the warmth, the first sip, instead of only noticing it once it runs out?
Today is about lapping up the little things again, the ones so ordinary they usually go unnoticed, and saying thank you, often.
