GRIT in Five — Day 27
Food for Thought

I have no doubt that by now you are noticing some changes. Whether they be big changes or small changes, that does not matter.

When we label growth as big or small, behind or ahead, we never really are in the present moment.

The intention for this journey is to train our brains to be more present, because that is really where the magic lies. Today we are going to notice more of the magic.

You know exactly what a trigger is, something that shifts your internal state, something you see or hear or experience that takes you from okay to something’s not quite right. That can happen in varying degrees of discomfort.

Today we are going to flip the script on that. Today we are going to notice the magic. Welcome to a joyful, beautiful concept called glimmers.

Glimmers are the opposite of triggers. However, they have some things in common. Glimmers also shift your internal state. However, they come with feelings of joy, fullness and gratitude.

So what is a glimmer? A glimmer is something you experience through your senses. You see it, you hear it, you feel it, you experience it and there is a moment in time that lands for you where you feel grateful or joyful.

To really land this point, let me give you some examples.

A Glimmer, In Action
This morning, when I went to get a coffee from Seattle Coffee, there was one moment in time where I glanced down at the top of my cup to see an entire bunny carved out of froth from the milk, artistically placed at the top for me to notice.

It literally lifted my spirits. I went from being stuck in my head, thinking about my busy schedule and my busy day, to remembering that these little moments are there all the time. When I notice them, I feel completely different.

Never underestimate the power of sitting in intention, visualizing and predicting. This practice is super powerful.

Take a moment to set a clear intention for yourself to notice the glimmers today.

Type your intention below.
Glimmers
Today’s move: all day today, notice the little moments that shift you into a more positive state. Keep a journal with you and write down as many as possible. Tonight, before you go to bed, read every single one out loud to yourself. Take a few deep breaths and really breathe in the miracles of these glimmers and mostly notice how your day unfolded because you were noticing.
Glimmers, Noticed.

Come back tomorrow for day 28 as we close up a 4 week cycle.
