As you approach the finish line of this mini series on letting go, I want to encourage you to pause for a moment and look back a few days. What are you noticing? How are you feeling?
Just a reminder that this journey is not about racing on ahead. It is vital for us to continue creating those moments in time when we pause and reflect, so that we can actually stop and smell the roses.
Your first task is to do that right now. Once you are done, let’s move on.
Today we are going to let go of one should.
Now the word should is an interesting little one. How often we catch ourselves wishing things were different, wishing we were different, wishing things hadn’t happened and then we use the word should. I shouldn’t have done that. That shouldn’t have happened.
This is when I would like to introduce the word shoulding. I like to refer to this as shoulding all over the place.
The truth here is while we didn’t want that to happen and if we could do it over it might have been different, carrying this is no longer serving you.
We don’t let things go because we make them okay. We let them go because carrying them is burdensome and we want to put down that heaviness.
Maybe it is something you did that you wish you had done differently. Today you want to let that go.
You are just about to breathe in some truth.
And breathe out something that no longer serves you.
Follow the circle as it expands and let the words guide each breath.
Tomorrow, we close this series with the lightest one yet.
