GRIT in Five — Day 19
Food for Thought

There was a Harvard study conducted over a span of roughly seventy years, including hundreds of people. They were on the lookout for the single thing that made people the happiest. The result: when your relationships are flourishing, you are happiest.

Think about it. If you have even one relationship in your life that is strained, it has a knock on effect on your entire life. Today you are going to take a moment to think about and spend time with the one relationship that should be top of your list. Yes, you guessed it, your relationship with yourself.

Often you become resentful because you do not get to do the things you love to do, just because life gets busy and you have responsibilities. Strengthening your self love muscle requires you do more of the things you love, guilt free. Yes, you heard that correctly, guilt free.

Close your eyes for a moment.

Think about the things you love doing, the things you wish you could do, that you have not done in so long.

What is that thing you long to do, that you have been putting off waiting for the perfect timing?
Why haven’t you done it yet?

Set an intention to do this very thing within the next week or two.

If you get to do it today, fantastic. If not, that is understandable too.

When will you do it?
What is it going to take for you to do this, guilt free?
Joy
Today’s move: try your best to look every person you greet in the eyes and smile at them. Notice how contagious a smile is. As human beings, connection makes us feel alive and creating these moments to smile and make someone else smile is another way to add joy.
Joy Multiplied

Every smile you give away today creates joy.

Creating joy is an inside job. Well done for being willing to add your sparkle to the world.
