GRIT in Five — Day 16
Food for Thought

Today we are going to start with a little riddle. What is the one thing that you receive the moment you are born and lose the moment you die? Yes, you guessed it, your breath.

If I had to ask you on a scale of one to ten how important is your breath, the answer can only be a ten. Because breathing is automatic you do not need to think about it, it just happens. It is the very thing we easily neglect the most.

Today we are going to combine presence with breath and notice what shifts for us physically and mentally when we give this important part of us the love it is about to receive.

Before you begin, how are you feeling right now?
Shoulder Drop Breathing
2:00
Inhale and lift your shoulders.
Exhale and let them drop.
Repeat slowly.
Releases tension stored in your muscles.
How are you feeling now?
Look at that shift.
Before
After
Presence
Today’s move: three times today, set a timer on your phone. Before you begin, check in with yourself, how are you feeling, one to ten. Then do your shoulder drop breathing, inhale and lift your shoulders, exhale and let them drop, repeat slowly. Afterward, check in with yourself again, how are you feeling now.
Day 16, Complete

Your breath has been with you this whole time, waiting for you to notice it.
