Gratitude
Food for Thought
When emotions are measured on a level of vibration, gratitude and love are right on top. Just think about a moment recently, or in the past, where you felt deep gratitude for something. I don’t need to convince you, it’s honestly the best feeling in the world. It feels full and complete, calm and content.
Did you know that it has been scientifically proven that your brain cannot feel stressed and grateful at the same time? Gratitude is the more powerful emotion and if consciously chosen it will override the stress. Yip, that means gratitude is the antidote for stress.
But gratitude is not something you do. It is something you feel and when you consciously keep choosing it, you notice a considerable shift in how you feel as well as the overall quality of your life. Last week you put a practice in place to say out loud five things you are grateful for every time you go to the loo. I hope you carried on with this practice and if you didn’t, no probs, just implement it again. Throughout this journey, we are going to keep visiting the things that anchor these moments so that they become second nature, something you don’t even need to think about.
Five seconds, five times a day, repeated for a week. That’s such a small thing on its own that it barely feels worth noticing. But small moments repeated often are exactly what shape a day and a life, whether that’s five seconds of gratitude or five seconds of scrolling. They add up far quicker than they seem to.
You just completed day 10! That’s a milestone!
You may not even know this but you are already creating a new habit.
Tomorrow you can look forward to soaking up more presence.
