Most people are running on autopilot: wake up, do your day, get home exhausted, pass out. Rinse and repeat. There seems to be a general rush to get as much as is humanly possible done in the least amount of time. Then we catch ourselves saying, “I can’t believe how time is flying.” Fun fact: the faster you move, the more likely you are to make mistakes and say things you regret. Oddly enough, you don’t get more done because you’re not clear of mind. This is where the less is more idea comes into play.
How rushed does today feel?
How does your morning usually start?
When you’re doing something simple, like making coffee or driving, where’s your mind?
How often do you catch yourself saying “I can’t believe how fast today went”?
When something takes longer than expected, what usually happens?
If you slowed down for just three moments today, what do you think would happen?
Take a moment to acknowledge what you just did.
The hardest part is starting, the hardest part is showing up.
